William H. Liggett Jr., MD

Dr. Liggett is board certified in Medical Oncology/ Hematology, Internal Medicine, and Dental Medicine. Dr. Liggett has been with Tennessee Oncology since 2000 and practicing hematology and oncology since 1997. Dr. Liggett completed medical school at Harvard Medical School. He also obtained a Dental degree (D.M.D.) and a Doctorate in Oral Pathology (D.M.Sc.) while at Harvard.

His internship and residency in internal medicine were done at Washington University in St. Louis. He completed a one-year fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Washington University followed by three additional years of fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University. He was a faculty member at Johns Hopkins Oncology Center before entering clinical private practice.

Dr. Liggett specializes in medical oncology, head and neck cancers, hematology, coagulation, and cancer genetics. Dr. Liggett holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Clinical Research, and American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Liggett sees patients in our Skyline Medical Center Office, our Springfield Office at Northcrest Hospital, and at our Dickson Office. When away from the office Dr. Liggett enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities including: snow skiing, distance running, swimming, cycling, and marine aquaria.
